Talking to my Younger Self in One Letter.
64
Dear Ann;
I know how difficult it is to look forward and hope that things would be better. Being a teen can be scary, specially for you.I know that you are afraid of so many things and with reason. I am writing to you today to put you at ease my friend. Even though life is not a fairy tale, it will be an adventure or at least a movie of the week. With twists and turns that will make you dizzy.
Much like a roller coaster hold on unto something still or you will fall. Keep hoping for miracles, they do exist. Stop worrying for what tomorrow might bring, live in the moment, those years will pass quickly. Find reasons to laugh, look up and around, beauty is there for everyone to find.
The mystery of God is and will be walking along side your journey. Never regret coming here, you are just a small link in a much bigger chain, that will connect so many lives. Give yourself a big applause, for you have seen so much pain and still are still fighting.
Please;
- Stop waiting for death, doctors don't hold a crystal ball. They are wrong you will have kids and you will see your children grow.
- Smile more, crying over spilled milk is pointless.
- Don't worry so much about others opinion, if you do, you will never see who you are.
- Don't hold grudges, it will cripple your soul.
- Forgive those that went away, their journey is apart from yours.
- Love yourself in spite of everything, people are blind to true beauty.
- Believe in impossibles and be grateful of the little things.
- Go to movies and plays more often, some day it will be difficult.
- Learn to play the piano and the guitar.
- Dance , dance, dance.
- Stop throwing away those poems and short stories, you will regret it.
- Hug more people, many of them will pass before you know.
There will be a day in twenty years, that you will be looking back and writing this letter so you’ll be reassured that a flower that blooms in adversity is the most beautiful of all. And even if you don't change any of this aspects, You will be fine. But try to fight for your dreams and be aware of your potential. Everything happens for a reason, lessons and trials will make you a much stronger person. You will be proud. Life is not easy but it was worth the trip. Blessings.
Your friend;
Anan Rivera
age 35
PS
Stop waiting for others to see the light of their errors, their journey is not yours. Let time heal and mend the hearts of those that have wronged you, forgiveness is a virtue not a weakness.
Please dance..
Just to keep you inspired.

Awesome letter. I am one of millions wishing I could go back and change things from time to time. All in all, I've learned the steps I've taken to arrive where I am are a crucial part of my journey and I'm coming to accept. Does that mean I'm getting old? :)
Ah if only we knew back then what we know now life would be so different.
But past mistakes are all a part of learning, and we never stop learning.
Lovely sentiments in your letter to your younger self
Hi Ananceleste!
Great to see you've written such an outstanding letter to yourself. You're the first to make a Hub from the question I asked. Good job! Loved the message.
Wish you lot's of happiness! Voted up, shared and away!
yea! it surely is.
Some times the conditions around us force our minds to forget being what we ought to be at that point of time. There might have been some or the other subconscious reason for you to start taking things too seriously. After the time has lapsed you always feel like living that phase once more with a different attitude. Anyways, you can always go back to some of things in your free time. Trust me! it rejuvenates.
I don't know exactly what I would say, but I know it would be a long letter. I would probably start with a few of the things that you said. It seems either we have a lot in common, or many people have very similar experiences.
Either way, it got me thinking about growing up and my children. I can not pass my advice on to a younger me, but I can pass it along to my children. Thanks for the interesting article.
It is funny how we age and become incapable of doing things which were so easy to do at a certain point in our past. So many things we could look over, be carefree about and still be happy and lively. Every one once wishes he could talk to his or her younger self.
Nice work here. Voted up. Thanks for the share
